A large 8 drawer map/architect cupboard dating to early 20th century. We found this beautiful item in a Geography classroom in an old Welsh school. It's a heavy unit with a solid frame work and top showing some lovely grain markings and we believe the smaller panels are pitch pine which was commonly used with furniture in this era. It has 2 doors on the front with 2 steel hinges on both sides (the key is missing from the lock) opening up to reveal 8 solid drawers. The outside has been treated for any wood worm (no holes showing), sanded and finished in a danish oil. The top does have a few scrapes and etchings on the top - this just adds to the character of this unit. The 8 drawers inside have been cleaned and left in their original condition. Most of the drawers have some ink marks or etchings that are shown in the photos. This item is in the category "Antiques\Antique Furniture\Cabinets & Cupboards".
